Here is a piece that my brother from another mother David Mirabile will have @ blade this year

David has really embraced the Japanese theme in a way that is all his own

By combining modern materials and classic workmanship I feel he owns this genre

Description from David :

The steel is high layer damascus core with the jacket consisting of massively worked cable.
I started with more than 3' of 1 1/4" cable!

Nagasa- 16"
Sori- 3/16"
Habaki, and seppa- copper
Tsuba- Titanium
Tsuka & Saya - Carbon fiber over Alaskan yellow cedar
Kashira, Kurikata, & Kajiri- Ancient walrus ivory
Menuki- Ancient artifact harpoon point
Weight- 1lb.1oz

David will be with me for the whole show so if there is any interest I'm easy to find :)

Thanks

Wow, I really dig that! Love the blend of ancient and modern, as well as Alaskan and Japanese.

very cool... David told me about that blade, and I'm still impressed by how it turned out.

Adam.

great looking piece. i really like the menuki he used, it was one of the first things that caught my eye. the stories the harpoon could tell in it's long life.

This excellent blade will be on display at Matt Diskins Booth 159

But alas it has already sold

Come by to see it and David will be taking orders

For everyone that reached out about this piece thank you and I wish there where more

man and nature, past and present ..in perfect balance

Very nice! Great combination of traditional & modern.

Kind regards,

It's like something came up out of the ground to hold the blade. This is a home run. :-)
