In my quest to decide what was the best sharpening kit for me, I went through almost all of them. I just received an edge pro apex and it is the best for me. I have the following;
DMT Aligner Diamond 3 hone (Course, Medium and Fine) The DMT sharpened 4 knives and the diamonds look almost like new.
GATCO 10003 3pc Stone Sharpener Gatco Knife Sharpener (Course, Medium, Fine) also includes additional medium diamond hone. The Gatco sharpened about 10 knives but is still in real good shape.
Spyderco Sharpmaker The Sharpmaker was removed from package but NEVER used to sharpen anything. It comes with medium and fine sticks.
Smith's Knife Sharpener Precision Sharpener System used prior to me has some life but well used. I have not been able to find the course hone yet, but i will keep looking.
Looking to trade all for one knife or break them up towards several knives. I am willing to look at anything that is good quality, users are fine. I will add money if someone has a nice knife they want to put towards one/all of the sharpeners. I like Kershaw, Spyderco, Rat Cutlery and many others.
