Guys, we have these new 3/8" diameter x 2" long fire starting rods in stock that we're going to use on our fire kit capsules. These are Misch metal and act a little differently than the standard ferro rod you're use to. You have to have a good sharp edge to strike them but they produce small balls of white-hot molten metal (not showers of sparks). I've been using them for some time now and they will light tinder that regular ferro rods have difficulty with (In fact, it's the only fire striker I carry now). They do require a little more effort than standard ferro rods but the results are really good, easily lighting just about any dry tinder. Anyway, the first 10 people to email me will get one of the bare rods to play with as long as you agree to email us with your feedback. Please include your address and it must be within the continental USA.

Mail sent.

Never heard of these...would like to compare one to my usual pieces (mag stick combo and ferro+striker).

E-mail launched, hope im in first ten, cant wait to compare this with ferro, you guys rock!

It absolutely amazes me that people don't follow simple instructions. Send me an email wanting one of these and don't send their mailing address. We disqualify a LOT of people every month on the knife contests for this very reason. Amazing :D

Doh! I was one of them..see I have this little embarrassing problem with premature e-notification..I get all hot and excited and then I, well, let's just say I mess things up.

Thanks for the public ridicule though - I won't make the mistake of forgetting my mailing address again. Or of buying RAT products.

:jerkit:

Thanks for all the replies guys. We've got a lot of emails so we've got enough.

I didn't name any names Moving Target. The only reason I posted what I did is I had 3 people email me wanting one of the rods but didn't give me a mailing address. We probably give away more knives and goodies than any other knife company and all we ever ask in return is for people to follow the rules since it makes it easier on our end to give stuff away and we don't have to work as hard to give stuff away. On the RAT Cutlery photo contest I have pissed off people and been blamed by them for being disqualified because I didn't do their job for them. I'm not upset with anyone but I figure if I post up enough about following the rules then eventually people will follow the rules and it will make easier for the office girl to figure out who gets what. Is that too much to ask? ;)
