Was perusing a certain subreddit (they sometimes have some good reads) and came across this guy posting about this article that he wrote about "Best survival knives!" - I figured why not, how bad can it be...

Oh boy...

Even though I don't have the pleasure of owning a BK2, yet. I can say hands down, if I was ever in a dire situation and needed a knife to battle the zombie hordes, chop off my truck axle, fell a redwood, etc etc (I think you guys get my point :p) it would be a BK2. There is nothing "average" about it.

You can beat the ever loving snot outta that thing and just wipe some spit on it and it's good as new. :D

I'll post the link to said article if anyone wants to read the whole thing, just as long as Bladite promises not to smite me. :p

What knives did he choose over the BK2? I doubt any would actually be a better all-around knife in a true SHTF scenario than a BK2 (or a 4, 7, 9, 10 etc. )

The bk2 is hands down my favorite knife I own. If I could only have one knife before being dropped in the wilderness it would be the 2.

hey!

if i can get a better knife for less?

sign me up.

sell me, or STFU :D

also, reddit. lol.

also, link.

we need to inform these guys :D

out of the 11 features your survival knife MUST have, the BK2 checks the first 9 of them easily, what more could you want out of a $70 blade? Sure the Fallkniven is good, but the BK2 could easily outlast it in the survival realm.

But honestly, I ignored whatever the article said immediately after seeing the proof that the A1 was superior was a nut'n'fancy video, he really annoys me.

the ESEE6 was a good choice for runner up, but the BK2 could run circles around that all day and not break a sweat, this guy is crazy.

I won't even mention the SOG and Bear Grylls knives more than just this once, obviously this guy shops on Amazon a lot.

he also contradicts himself by saying he'd go with a carbon steel all the way due to ease of maintenance, but then he chooses the A1 which comes in a stainless VG10. I'm not saying he's wrong, but he needs to make up his mind.

if you can buy an A1 in carbon or stainless for $60? sign me up?

I read that article, now I want my 20 minutes back. so much misplaced advice its no wonder he doesn't appreciate the BK2.

amazon has the Failkniven Fonzi AAAAAAAA for "close to $200"

wow

the ESSE 6 is pretty awesome. i own one. very special. that said? i'd never buy another one. not my kind of knife.

Buck 119 Special? nope. if i owned one, the first person that said they liked it? i'd probably offer them a trade. for ... anything. hate it.

OG Specialty SE38-N? F*** SOG.

Morakniv Companion? well. not bad. i wouldn't sell you all out for that, but, better than Buck or SOG

Gerber 31 Bear Grylls Ultimate Knife? can't go wrong for $20 :D

also, that link has no Becker content.

ban time :D

So this special person doing the knife rating things that a f@&#ing buck 119, gerber bg pos, SOG, and mora is superior to a bk2? WOW is all I can say...

Should be banned for merely posting this blasphemy lol

But look at how THICK it is!

That's what she... nope, I'm not gonna fall for that. :D

But seriously, the guy who wrote that article was all over the place. I had a sensible chuckle whilst reading it.

Seems like the kinda guy, if given the choice, would rather "In Case of Emergency, Break Glass" to grab this

Have you considered that the gentleman who wrote that review might be an idiot?

Idiots are out there. And they usual fail to inform others of their idiocy.

By the end of the article it was clear to me that when people say "He's not special, he's just a limited edition!" - they were referring to folks like him.

well, surely, there are better knives than a BK2

but for $70?

show me

prove it

i might buy it ;D

I want a knife better than the 2 for less than the 2. Hell, I would buy 2.
