There's a HOFSH on bladebay right now, and the seller seems to present himself as part of Busse Co. Problem? He just cut and pasted all the FAQ's from the Busse site.

So... his description begins by stating, "INFI is a proprietary steel and heat-treat protocol developed by Busse Combat Knife Co. It is ONLY available through Busse Combat." Problem? He's in Canada.

And all throughout the FAQs, where Jerry writes "we" or "I," this guy seems to be taking the credit. Problem? He's not Jerry!

Unless, of course, Jerry has expatriated himself across the Canadian border (for the Canadian whiskey?) and is selling off old stock on bladebay. Problem? This would mean that he's not grinding Game Wardens!!!

Jerry, where are you???

well, I am sure there will be plenty of emails to the guy to tell him to change his write up. Chances are he's just one of those people who makes money collectng items that appreciate fast and Busse and Randall are like that, so no big deal.

Just the sign of a person that either really knows nothing about the product and just wants to sell, or they are too lazy to at least change the wording so that it is not a complete copy of the manufacturers text.

Perhaps he just did not feel it necessary to note that he did a cut and paste on the info?

All he has to do is qualify the source of the info.

I know it's not a big deal, but I agree with Terry. Just a quick citation would have solved the whole thing.

Just thought it was funny that Jerry is now selling his knives out of Canada on eBay. :D

I have seen what I would term nice, well laid out ebay sales on Rats that said something like the following:

"This was taken straight from the Swamp Rat website:
'SR101 is.............'"

chances are its just a typographical error, where he meant or should have put qoutation marks in front and back of the faq statements.

or should have stated "as per busse cobat :" "

The seller added a correction...

"NOTE: The descriptions of this knife come directly from the Busse Website. If you are looking at this knife, it's because you know who makes it, you have good taste and are a fan of Busse.

I am in no way associated with Busse Knives."

Forum lurker?

Mainly, I'm just glad that Jerry may still be working on the Game Wardens.

I'm not in Canada but would go in a minute for the beer, fishing, and hunting!!!!  :D

Jerry

Jerry, I live in Canada. I'm working on a reserve in northern Ontario. I'd be happy to take you out fishing and hunting. The only hitch is that it is a dry reserve. On the other hand, there are bascially no rules up here.

There are lots of pike around here. Most people just throw them back. They're far more interested in the pickerel/walleye. There are also sturgeon and suckers. The suckers are so plentiful right now that you can spear or snare them.

Jeff's pike, perhaps the biggest one I've seen up here. I got another one that was similar, but not quite as big.

I went out fishing on Friday afternoon. Nate and his dad tipped their canoe, so we cut the trip a little short. I pulled in a couple pike, but I didn't keep them.

Here's a picture of me, sitting by the side of the river as my Nate and his dad dried themselves off on the other side. We offered to make a fire, but they just wanted to get back ASAP.

Yesterday, I went out for a canoe trip. I was out for about two hours. I saw at least ten ducks within range. It could have been a profitable afternoon.

In that order? I think fishing and hunting might suffer. :D

I really think he meant the order to be hunting (beer), (buying) beer, and fishing (beer out of the grocery bag).

We took the kids out fishing. Here's a picture of one of my students holding a fis he just reeled in. It was his his first of seven that afternoon.

That was my guess, but I didn't want to sound like an idiot... since I'm really not sure.

Its ok to be wrong every once in a while, it builds character! :D
