Misplacing your knife after a long day...

Missing one because of a knife?

I love all my tools. If I misplaced one of my knives regardless of brand or even one of my wrenches I would have a meltdown lol

BMC...been there more than a few times myself...it is a terrible feeling...

So here's my "lost blade" tale:

The only knife that I've "misplaced" that's still truly M.I.A. was a Cold Steel Clipmate in laminated vg1 or vg10...whatever their "SanMai" was back in the early 90's...

but it was like $99 even back in the day when I bought it at the old Hoffritz store in the mall <ahh, the mall...memories:)>...accounting for inflation I'd say it'd be pretty comparable in $$$ to a reg. Sebbie today...

anyways, to sum up, I worked at a cabinet factory and my boss really coveted that knife and I had laid it down after scribing some stock with it, I walked off, got sidetracked, needed my blade for something else, feeling for it in my empty LF pocket remembered that I had 100% LEFT it on the radial arm saw table, went back and it was gone. Asked my boss <we were the only 2 in the shop on the weekend getting ready for a show> if he'd seen it...he replied quickly-- TOO QUICKLY-- "It's probably buried in sawdust piles. " So I spent the next solid hour looking thru the bins and over the floor for her, looked intermittently off/on the rest of the day when I wasn't busy-- no dice.

That SOB of a boss took it I am all but confirmed...but I couldn't prove it beyond the shadow of a doubt, he was my boss, and I needed the job...end of story.

Jacking a guy's blade is tantamount to stealing his horse or kicking his dog and I'm sure there's a special ring of hell reserved for blade thieves! :thumbdn::mad::thumbdn:
