I was all excited about the Blade Show this year. For the first time, I was actually fairly close to Atlanta and just knew I'd be able to make it. I'm currently stationed at Camp Shelby, Ms. as an "OC/T" (I help train deploying soldiers). We'll as luck would have it.....I was scheduled to report for BNCOC (for non-mil personnel, this is a professional development course) on 30, May. I quickly got the class rescheduled for June so that I would be able to attend the show even though it isthe same weekend as my wedding anniversary.
I was all excited, had already made contact with friends who would be attending and was laying my plan out when the wife said..........."I spent Valentine's Day at the knife show in Little Rock, I'm not spending our anniversary at a knife show too".
As luck would have it, she changed her mind at the last minute and told me we could go since my BNCOC was rescheduled again for July 10-25. Unfortunately, I ended up on the training lanes this weekend training soldiers. To top everything off, my BNCOC report date is 10 July (my birthday). The Spirit of Steel show is the same weekend. My graduation Day is 25, July....the first day of the A.G. Russell show.
So, as one might imagine, I'm a bit frustrated now!!! Not only did I miss the Blade Show, but now I'm also missing the Spirit of Steel and A.G. Russell shows as well. It's been a bad weekend for me. But hey, my wife liked her new pistol I bought her for our anniversary and i got all of my tools needed to start making my own Kydex sheaths.
