I nearly was in the same boat a couple weeks ago, I managed to just skim my thumb with my bandsaw in a stupid wood cutting incident. lost a bit of nail and a small piece of the tip, which has all but grown back. Thought it was worse than it was, and is nowhere near yours.
I hope you heal well and recovery quickly so you can continue making blades.
