I am sooooooo upseet- A package was delivered to my door according to FedEX, with three $55-Bucks inside, on saturday morning at 8:28 AM.
When i got up around 10:30, there was nothing there. Im living in this old fogies community 55+-Some senile bastard is running around here now with my Bucks. I didnt do tracking til last night.

What a friggin drag! I wrote Ira Wood and son and even called but i couldnt stay on hold forever so im waiting for them to call me back. This ever happen to anyone else?

Do you think im just out of luck? I really dont think Ira wood should have to eat this or ME for that matter so what do you guys suggest?

I have a package from Buck disappear a while back. I was deployed so didn't know that it hadn't arrived until weeks later so I just took the beating on it.

I would contact FEDEX, they may have delivered it to the wrong address.

Sorry to hear about your loss/hassle. Were they insured?

Thats a drag-I always worry about that but have spared of it. Call Fedex its worth a try for sure. Sorry for you.:(

Hi Bucksstophere,

Welcome to the Buck Forum! Missing a package sucks big time.

1) Contact Fedex and file a report with them. (see what they say)
2) Contact Ira Wood, both by phone and email.
If none of these folks who are in the selling & shipping buisness will help you get what you paid for then:
3) Call your bank and have a stop payment issued for this tranaction, they will help you when all else fails...sometimes!

Yeah part of me is upset because I might be living real close to a thief but for the most part now im leaning to some kind of mix-up.

But HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS- In talking to Ira Wood I learned that 2 of the knives were back ordered!! Whopee!!!! There was only one knife in the pkg so now it's $50 and not 150. Right there i can relax a bit.

Anyway I have a claim in w fedex and i talked to Ira Wood and everyone is in a holding pattern waiting for me to hear back from Fedex. They contact the driver and then the driver has 48 hours to report back what he knows. Possibly that process will reveal a misdelivery or something and I'll get my knife. Otherwise I Wood mentioned something about putting in a claim.

I dont want to be hard on anyone. Presuming it was delivered-it was as much my fault that it wasnt ushered safely inside right away. I was in my apt sleeping at the time of the alleged delivery.

Sorry not to have answered sooner-I couldnt find this thread. Im just barely getting a little feel for what im doin here and with knives as well.

and thank you all for your input.

I figure that if anything doesn't arrive safe to my hands.....the problem then is between the sender and the carrier.

They can hash it out between them, but it's definitely not my problem, and if push comes to shove I'll just do a credit card chargeback.

All reputable senders know this.

I've never lost a cent on a nondelivery. Either it gets safely to my hand or they're gonna get nothing.

Ill let you know tomorrow night what happens. I dont think they will give me a problem on it, especially when i have 2 more on order. But if they do Im going to slam the phone down hard as shit, take 1/2 a 10mg Valium and try to forget about it. If that doesn't work in 10 minutes im going to take the other half. That should do it long enough for me to calm down on my own. If it was still $150 involved there'd likely be a conniption in the mix.

The lesson to be learned here is not to ship FedEx. If the seller doesn't give other options, move on.

In April 2007 I ordered a $2200 computer from Dell. The monitor shipped separately, through DHL, and made it to my doorstep in three days. The computer shipped two days after the monitor, FedEx, with an expected delivery date of May 3 I think. I didn't really keep an eye on the tracking, but when May 3 rolled around I checked it and found that my computer was out for delivery... in Sacramento, California. I live in North Carolina.

When I called FedEx to report this, they refused to help me. When the computer finally arrived, the box was mangled and had been open, but fortunately everything inside was fine.

Since that day I haven't shipped anything FedEx, and a company that won't ship UPS or USPS isn't worth my time in dealing with.

I say you guys are lucky. As most of our delievery drivers will only come a short distance down our dirt road to the first gate and there just throw it over the fence . Because they've heard about the bull in that pasture and don't care to chance coming closer to the house . DM

Well one thing for sure, If you are going to save money on every package by not requiring a signature, then you have to pay up when a pkg goes missing. There's probably 200 pkgs got by no problem where you saved $350-there's plenty o cash to send my way on this F up.

Bucksstop, I didn't mean it like that. I'm disappointed you didn't get your package as well. DM

UPS just leaves packages on my doorstep if i'm not home. One of these days, someone is gonna make off with my stuff. And then BROWN may end up Black and Blue.

USPS contracts with FED-X to do all 3 day delivery...
some times they are .. well substandard..

Fed Ex called me around 4:30 to tell me that they had not heard back from the driver which by default means the driver did what he could but came up empty.

I was out when they called and didnt have Ira Wood's number so i Emailed them just now, giving them the news, and asking what's next?

Tomorrow ill call them and see where we go from here.

UPS pays it claims better than any other carrier. If the shipper does not require signature what are they supposed to do? If your package is stolen they will pay claim but forever more you will have to sign or pick up in person at their hub. How will they end up black and blue? Anything of value I would totally go with UPS because every package is insured.

Ive been able to load two pictures succesfully and i dont know what i did differently for the success. They wound up as thumbnails which open to great pictures on my computer but i suppose if you dont have the same photo program as me, they might not open or they'll look craptastic on yours-I dont have any idea.

It just might be file size-try some picture that might not have used so much computer space-see what happens. If i stick around long enough ill eventually stumble on to a solution im sure. Im gonna try the file size thing right now.

I looked at the file size requirements for a Jpeg- 100KB- Mine was 1.87 MB. By cropping this small knife to its edges, it still said i had 460KB-Nowhere near the ballpark for acceptance. So Im probably misunderstaning something.

If anyone can help, please do.
