So today my wife and I decided to hike Mission peak today.
Mission Peak is just east of Fremont, and is 2,517 ft. We took a trail that climbs 2,200 ft. over 3 miles. Man are we going to be sore tomorrow. Might not sound like much, but it's quite a feat for us couch potatoes. 3 hours to climb it, and an hour to get back down.

Anyways, here are some pics with captions preceding each:

This is were we are heading from close to the beginning of the trail.

Cool pics, I am a sucker for sausage, cheese, and crackers that is one of my
favorites.

Thanks for the comments guys. I thought some of you might enjoy it. I know we did. It was a great way to spend the day. Couldn't have been nicer, well it could have been a little less windy at the top...

Oh yeah, sausage cheese and crackers ROCK!

That looks like a lot of fun. I havent been able to go out and about in a while and everyones pics are killing me. I hope to get a weekend trip in in a couple of weeks though.

Great pics. It is always fun to see what everyone is out doing and what they look like. It personalizes things...

Wow, cool, seems you've been in the area for a while? Thanks for the trivia.

Ya, we took the trail from Stanford Rd, and when we got home, I looked up mission peak to see how far and high we walked, then find out that there is another trail out of ohlone college. We will definitely take that trail next time, as I especially like walking in wooded areas, and although this trail is nice, it is really just open rolling hills, aaand steep!

Hey, if we are in the same neck of the woods, maybe we could get together for a hike or camping trip sometime?

Great pics! Looks like a nice area. I like the rolling green hills in CA this time of year.

Great pics !
I can't get over how much it looks like my old hiking grounds back in the UK !!!

Do a search on google images for Mam Tor and Castleton and you will see what I mean !!!

Here is one pic from that area for those who can't be bothered to use the search function...
