Mistakes.

I am too overwhelmed by the concern and care shown here. via personal email and phone to say anything except thanks.

All the problems are a result of hurrying. I have got to slow down and so do the kamis back home.

Uncle Bill

Uncle you are the nicest guy in teh world to do business with. You bent over backwards to get me my first HI and I feel you will do it every time I want one. I can't think of anyone I would rather do business with And you really should take a break. Try to stop at least on the weekends--the forum is usually not that busy on teh weekends. YOu could afford to get away on them at least although you should take at least a week off every now and then.

Anyways please take care of yourself and stop worrying about mistakes. We all make them. Its a part of life.

thanks and take care

Thank you very much, collin. You are quite a nice young man.

Yangdu and I are playing with the notion of going over to San Francisco for a weekend. I will meet forumite John Powell there if we can wrangle this journey. And, guess what we will do. John will show me his khukuri collection and we will talk about khukuris all weekend. Talk about the busman's holiday!

One cannot escape one's karma!

Uncle Bill

Sounds like a fun trip Uncle Bill and you really should do it. It would do you good to see and talk about some khukuris you don't have to sell or try so hard to get to us.

thanks and take care

John Powell has emailed me and is pressing me to make the journey. He is a great help besides being a fine fellow.

Uncle Bill

Uncle, I live 12 miles south of San Francisco in a little town call Pacifica. Let me know if you come. We can go have some good chinese food :- )

Just an idea, but how about us forumites here
in the SF Bay area meet up with Uncle Bill
when he is here?

Bill,

DO IT! If you meet up with forumites and HI users, you can always feel better that you're still "working".

Clay, if you think that Rusty can help you then I probably can. I do recommend either a stay in detoxification or stabilization of your meds first for best results, though.

John Powell just emailed me telling me that SF was a near non-smoking city. As a two pack a day smoker this has me concerned.

Uncle Bill

Wow, Uncle -- if you are smoking 2 packs a day and roll your own, no wonder you are tired!

Haven't had a Marlboro in days! So far so good...

I will be out in SF in Sept. Going to a wedding in Monterrey. Will be my first time. Looking forward to it -- any suggestions from the townies?

Clay, I have a mini cigarette factory. I have the slick slide-the-tobacco-into-the- tube type machine that is not really a roller. I buy the tubes (empty cigarettes, really) and Top tobacco and can manufacture 40 cigarettes while I drink my coffee and watch the news in the morning.

My dad, Frank, who is pushing 90 smokes a carton per week and pipe at night. He has been a heavy smoker for 75 years. I only hope I inherited his genetic makeup.

John, do you allow smoking in your SF pad? I will never get through 70 khukuris without a cigarette.

Uncle Bill

I had no idea you were 66. The amount of work I see on your forum alone is worthy of a man half your age, let alone all the other related duties you must do daily for your business and personal life.

Be kind to yourself. We are all imperfect for no mortal can be perfect. Take a little time for yourself and family. Not only will you be healthier you will be able to focus more easily when working. But why am I telling you this. You know this as well as anyone else.

Besides, my interest in these knives has been sparked and I, as well as others, need your knowledge so we can learn to truely appreciate the blades for what they really are, not just a cutting implement.

Take care, Uncle Bill

Hi Big:

Many thanks for sound advice and kind words.

I remember a passage from Ken Kesey's, "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest." The lead character tried to pull up from its roots a large sink or washstand to throw through the window so he could escape the confinment of the mental institution. He was not strong enough so failed in his effort. Then he said, "At least I tried."

I try to do as much as I can the best I can. It seems that many times this is not enough and what is done is done poorly.

But at least I tried.

Uncle Bill

Yes he failed, but another saw, remembered, and did not fail.

I love that movie. It is one of my favorites. Have you ever noticed how much the Simpson's rip it off though like when after having a beer explode on him Homer tells Barney he no longer likes beer which makes Barney try to smother him in the hospital and then Barney preceeds to grab a water fountian break out a window with it and then run away out the window. Or the time Homer is in a mental institution and says hello to an Indian who hasn't talked in like 30 years only to have the man reply hello.

Anyways I'm sorry I just love the Simpsons and once I start talking about them its hard to stop.

thanks and take care
collin

collin, if I remember correctly the Indian who played the part in the movie was Will Sampson -- almost Simpson but not quite.
