From my experience, GKD is pretty well mannered. If you want a taste some of the aforementioned activities (bullying, harassment, etc.) just go to Whine & Cheese. I have no idea why that forum is even on here; it has very little if anything to do with knives. The only thing I can think is that the administrators maintain it to give that crowd something to do and to keep them off the more respectable forums.

Politics is basically a closed forum for less than a dozen posters and mods who never write anything about knives.

W&C is there so people can let off some steam without messing with the other forums. Otherwise there would be meltdowns all over the forum. It's like the "they're going to do it anyway, so let's give them a place to do it safely" argument some parents use when they let their underage kids drink at home.

Since I started seeing your posts a while ago I never noticed you posting anything bad towards anyone. It was the opposite, I saw you trying to help others, trying to help identify knives, etc.

It feels wrong that you should apologize for anything when it was the scum of this forum who publicly attacked and mocked you even outside of w&c, contrary to the rules(which clearly are only partially enforced when violations don't involve buddies of the mods) & without provocation.

Oh well.

If you don't think the rules are being enforced fairly I would strongly recommend starting a thread in Tech Support. That's the place to address issues with how the forum is run.

It’s the anti-BladeForums. Challenge them and they howl in unison then chase you to the gates.

I’m bewildered as to why it exists.

As far as I can tell it largely exists to keep political topics from leaking out into the general forums where they inevitably result in obnoxious squabbles.
 
I have no problem with strong opinions, but they are just opinions. I do have a problem with people who feel their opinions are gospel and will argue and belittle anyone who disagrees with them.

I have several troublesome people on my "ignore list" and do find it comical reading a thread where someone is arguing with an "unseen" person that seems to continue for several postings. I check the "show ignored content" and sure enough, one of the troublemakers are on that list, people who seem to live to argue. Life is far too short to get all hot and bothered at an annoying post on a knife forum.

And to the OP, it takes quite a bit of humility to post an apology, something that we all probably should do from time to time.

Maybe "Community" would be a better place! :thumbsup:

It's possible a bigger deal was made of my posts than they really were, but regardless I feel I made a good number of them that I probably should not have.
Often complaining and criticizing for no real reason did nobody any good.

I don't believe I've posted anything that belonged in W&C , and that's one thing I'm thankful of because it's not my kind of place.
I believe there may be a thread or two that might be good for some laughs, but there's just too much goings on there I don't want to be a part of.
