Haven't posted here for awhile, haven't made much of anything either latly. I did get this put together yesterday. Forged the blade out of a piece of the rusty steel behind mister head. It's a piece of really old logging mill saw blade that came out on a job I was working on in a load of fill sand a few years before I got into making knives. I spark tested it and it looks the same as W-1. The handle is a piece of cow horn and then brass fittings. Looks like I used a 50 cal casing but its not. The blade is just over 3" and total of just over 7".

Cool Dude!
Nice to see somebody with a sense of humour.

Saw it early AM over on the other place but didn't have time to make a comment so here you go.

Very nice raymond. Blade looks almost like damascus. Is that just natural patina/pattern from the variations in the steel?

Clean! Nice temper line. Mr PH mush have some tough digits to hold that baby like that. :D I sure like your rings on the end.

I like that knife - really like it.

The setting really strikes me funny for some reason. Must be the grin on that new knife owner.

She turned out way COOOOOOOOOOOOL !!!!!

Told you that old piece of cow horn in the barn would make a cool looking handle,Glad to see you tried it.Bet there won't be any stray horns in the neighborhood now...

Again she is sweet,
Bruce

etp 777, Its not damascus or a natural pantina. Its a light hot dog mustard pantina. Glad you guys like the knife, mister potatoe head won't give it back.

Bruce, I plan on making a trip out to Willie's to get more horn and the bull peckers he's got on ice for me. I'm sure I'll be making a couple canes out of the peckers but also thinking of using them for knife handles.

The mustard again, shoudla known. love way it looks, gonna have to give that a try myself sometime.

Very cool Ray, I love that handle and horn is one of my favorite handle materials.

I am going to have to try that mustard trick one of these days.
