You are going to love that pancake sheath on the Shadow III. I am a little on the fat side and the pancake holster rides my hip snug as a bug. Also the Shadow III moves very well in the hand and will make you a perfect EDC.

Wow, cool story, great pics! I love the in-the-water pic, very "navy seal" haha.

I can't wait to get out and use my one and only CRK 1 piece, a Mountaineer I. I want to test it out doing some everyday yard work and take it on a day hike. Good to know how tough the steel and coating is. CRK advertises the knife as good for opening cans but I wasn't sure, mostly about scratching, but now after your review I'm not afraid!

And now after reading your review I want a larger 1 piece also! I just don't know which one. I may just go with the Mountaineer II since I'm not sure I understand the purpose of a double cross guard on a single edge knife.

And how is shaving with that knife? I don't have a strop so I haven't tried.
