ML Bushcrafter

C Bryant, good gravy, that's a collection you've got there! Awesome.

I take it you don't mind using an ML knife?

There's something about Matt's grind, just super, super sharp, easy to keep sharp. The top knife is kinda ugly, but incredibly comfy handle, gets daily use in my kitchen. The bottom two are beauties for woods and EDC. Been thinking about asking Matt to make me a chef's knife...

I'm not ashamed to say I'm hooked. Matt is the one who got me hooked on handmade knives and forging. First one I ever owned was from him. He makes a GREAT blade and is always willing to help me out with forging questions. And if I recall he is the one who turned me on to bladeforums.

(And I'd love to see some pics of other people's ML knives--post 'em up!)

Here are my ML Knives - Zipper, Mini Kephart, Wharnie.

A pile of sheaths ~~~ Lynx drawn on one, owl feather on another, rawhide wrapped with forged copper bead and other decoration...at my request. The others I just gave him creative freedom and told him to surprise me. :)

Augghhh, dang it all Treechopper; I wasn't expecting a Wharnie pic. Now I'm going to have to send Matt another e-mail....

And that little bocote knife has some serious character--very nice.

LoL Glad I could help you out. :D The wharnie was my first ML. There's a very nice one in the extended gallery on his website.
The zipper is made from a leaf spring I found on land I where I grew up and spend my time now. Unfortunately it's going to be developed :thumbdn::thumbdn::thumbdn: so I'm collecting pieces of wild apple and cherry for handle material for future knives. Matt is always open to trying new ideas for handles, sheaths, whatever. The creative process is always fun.

Well I sent him an e-mail.

I think it is a great idea to collect some of the wood that might otherwise end up in a landfill. Very cool.

Well, since yall are posting all the pics of ML knives (and some really gorgeous knives I might add!!) here are mine;

Besides making great knives, Matt supplies sheaths of much higher quality than most manufacturers.

BTW can someone tell me what the blade height is on Matt's Kephart?

Now that is cool!

Thanks. Joezilla has one that is similar and I asked if I could be a copycat. :) Matt made the striker and I strung it up with beads I made. The bear print clasp is just a button from JoAnn Fabrics. I don't wear the rig as is around my neck anymore ... goes in the denim pouch I posted yesterday. Striker works great!

lovely
I have one blade from ML waiting to put handel on DIY project...waiting.....to much work here ;-)
