In less than two weeks, the MLK weekend winter camping trip will take place. So far, we have over 30 people who have expressed interest in going. Should be a good time with plenty of blades.

Here are the 3 that will be my main users for the trip. I'm packing more for play but these three won't be too far from me all weekend.

GB Scandinavian Forest Axe
BRKT Fox River
Bahco Laplander Folding Saw

No folding knives for me in the winter. I carry a small necker to avoid having to take off my gloves in the extreme cold. Also, when cold weather comes in, I rotate some of my smaller kit items for larger more easily manipulated ones with gloves on.

Don't get me wrong, I love my SAK Farmer, huntsman and handyman but they don't have a place in my winter kit.

I agree I dont like to take a folder to the woods in the winter. Hear in Alaska anyway
