Mmmmmm... Banana...

I just grabbed the closest thing to me, which was Break Free, but I've used 3 in 1, Hoppe's, and Kroil to great effect in the past with other knives.

So knife number two... I'm really feeling some uncertainty here. I'm torn between a karambit, a PSARK, and an A-100. Thoughts?

Eh, I'd avoid the PSARK unless you're a firemen or something. Not really a practical bladeshape for most uses. Don't like the Karambit shape either, you're paying a lot of money for a tiny blade. Your CQC8 would be way better for self defense than a karambit. A100 is a nice choice.

BTW, do you post on the somethingawful forums?

I agree with, mongomondo either the CQC-8 or the A-100 would be a better bang for the buck. they are much more versatile.

The 8 and A-1 are both great obviously but the kerambits are defo worth a look.
I carry one quite often and the EKI combat kerambit is one of those "land mark" knives.
They are probably the best production kerambit available and while geard towards SD
they are far from totally useless as a utility blade.
They are also one of the EKIs that really does go well with the wave IMO.

I do love the karambit, and loved one from the first time I held one. They have ridiculously disproportionate cutting power to their size. Admittedly I'd have more use for a utility knife than an SD knife.
And then there's the A-100. It's simple and versatile. And while it's .1 inches longer than the legal limit in my state, I don't think the local cops would care. But it's one of those rare knives that does the reverse grip, reverse blade well. So far the only other vote has been for the A-100, so perhaps you forumites are on to something...

I can't recommend the A-100 too highly. As I have mentioned elsewhere, the A-100 has a Zen feel and design. It is simple, fits the hand perfectly and inspires confidence in the security of it's grip. You will understand the moment you pick one up.

So now, do I get the plain edge or half-serrated?
Also, why does Big Ern not make a serrated karambit?

I personaly dont like serations so I would go for a plain edge every time but if
you have a use for them then fair enough.

As to a serated K,bit I wouldnt go for one my self but I bet they would be
great little rippers, it would be an absolute beast on rope and the like.

Like Haze says go for PE, unless you have a specific use in mind for SE. I also prefer PE. My Mini Comm is a combo edge, and I wish it were PE. It would get a lot more use if it was.
