Mnandi blues

Lignum Vitae is also my favorite wood. It is the hardest known wood, and it also has a lot of natural oils. around WW 2 it was used as the bearing for ship propeller shafts. A common question asked by the Coast Guard when testing for a merchant marine engineer license was what material is used for propeller shaft bearings? Knowing the answer was one small part of getting my 3rd assistant engineers license in 1978.

this Raindrop Damascus Lignum Vitea was born 2 weeks ago (march 31) The small 21 was born November 2010. They are both EDC knives depending on whether I am dressed up, or dressed down.

Another buddy got this one (bark mammoth ivory) and asked me to take photos:

Nice, isn't it? :D

Just ordered one today from CRK directly and was told six to eight weeks. My wait begins…

I always wondered where that knife went that TNK sold. That is almost perfection

Nice!
This is truly a beautiful piece of work. I am a small time collector of Pacific Northwest art, and though would never have the balls to get the engraving done, must say this came out very nice.

Thanks for sharing,
Evan

A few of mine :D

I do have an African Black Wood Mnandi user that I keep in a jacket pocket. It is amazing how often it gets used even though I normally carry larger knives.

Ivory with the clip removed is great for some scrim.

My Mnandi is just back from the "apple slicing mission".
An apple a day, keeps the doctor away.

I've had my mnandi for more than a week. Excellent blade, I'm really enjoying it and even the non-knifers like it.

From what I understand, they are still "incredibly backed up". I imagine that you guys have something to do with that.

Picked up a Camel Thorn recently on the exchange. Here it is with my Ironwood. Lots of texture on the Camel Thorn.
