Mnandi competitors

A Massdrop Gent arrived yesterday and couldn't be happier.
For the price, i think you can't find a gentleman's knife like it.

Another vote for the William Henry E6. Almost identical size to the Mnandi (better blade to handle ratio), almost as many inlay options, much better steel as long as you get a newer one with M390. Ground thinner behind the edge too. If you like to fidget with your knives the action blows the Mnandi out of the water, so much smoother and faster than the clumsy-by-comparison nail nick. And all this for $50-$100 less depending on inlay.

Only 2 downsides: #1 aesthetics--the Mnandi is better looking knife IMO, even if the WH is no slouch; and #2 fit and finish--my E6 is just as good as any CRK but I have heard of others who had small issues with theirs.

I owned a Mnandi and enjoyed it very much. Then I bought a Spyderco Air and liked it about as much for a fraction of the price. It is very similar in size and shape, has arguably better blade steel and can deploy with one hand. The downside is that it will rust if you aren't cafeful. Also, it cuts very, very well. It is an excellent knife.

I sold the Mnandi and kept the Air.

Another cheaper option is the AG Russell Light'n Bug. Very classy option for only $75. 8Cr13MoV is a pretty bad steel, but in a gent's type knife it's still serviceable, especially with a nice thin grind.
