Mnandi--I Just Submitted an Order for my First One

Fellow CRK brothers and sisters,

I just ordered a new Mnandi with Bocote handles from an online shop. I had some trepidation about the purchase and was vascillating between a small Sebenza 21 w/ wood inlays, but ultimately went with the Mnandi. I already own two small Sebenzas (plain and Insingo) so I wanted to add another style to my carry. I am really looking for moral support that I made the right decision as well as anyones experiences they have had using the Mnandi for light cutting tasks (boxes, tape, miscellaneous).

Oh you just screwed up bad, man.

:D Of, course I mean that Mnandi are like Lay's potato chips. One just doesn't satisfy.

You mean, I am only FEEDING my addiction and not SATISFYING it? Oh great. . . What can you tell me about the new style pivot pin vs. the old style?
Oh you just screwed up bad, man.

to me they look a little smaller, with a bigger CR logo.. and sunken in the inlay a little deeper, but i am going by the photos.. that still wouldn't stop me on the mnandi..... please post pics when you get it!!!!

Great choice! Having owned a mnandi, small sebenza and large sebenza, I would have to say that in my opinion it is the best design of the three. Absolutely perfect little folder.

Here is a nice pair, that classic combination of ebony and ivory (mammoth). :)

If you have two small Sebenzas, it is time for a Mnandi. I sold mine and kinda miss it.

I had a snake wood mnandi earlier this year, sold it, and just received a blood wood mnandi on Monday this week. I'm really happy with the mnandi. Great for my office work environment and one hell of a slicer.

I'm filling out my CRK collection. I just picked up an umnumzaan this am from a forum member, already have a large Sebenza insingo and the normal drop point blade, a small Sebenza insingo, so after this weeks purchases, I'll just need a small Sebenza with the normal drop point blade. But, need to refill knife funds first.

I chose to go with the umnumzaan and mnandi this week over a small Sebenza for the same reasons you purchase the mnandi, to provide variety. I'm happy with my choice. I'm sure you will be too.

Thomason--May I please have one of your Mnandis? It seems a little unfair and unequitable that I can only afford one and you can afford many. In fact, I think you should "spread your Mnandi wealth around" to the rest of the Mnandi fans in this thread. Anyone else agree? I feel like I am just plain getting the raw end of the deal here.

Just because I have a few does not mean I can afford them. :D

(1 mnandi = 4 more weeks of the beans and tortillas only diet)

Congrats on your Mnandi. They are beautiful, amazing, and very tough knives for their size. I had 5 at one time, now I am down to just one. Its a SS Basketweave Damascus/Cocobolo and is pretty special. Its a keeper for sure. I have had 2 with Bocote Wood and I must say, other than the camel thorn that I had, the Bocote was by far the most beautiful of them all.

Please post pics when it arrives. Enjoy !

Good choice you made.
Just like Dallas said "one just doesn't satify", I start with one and within few months, I have six of them.

Awesome knife. I also have a small Sebenza. The Mnandi handles 90% of all my knife needs. If I have a project or am working in the yard, I carry the Sebenza. When I carry a knife on a daily basis, it's the Mnandi.

You're going to love that Bocote. I just bought one from the For Sale section last night. Can't wait to add it to my Mnandi collection.

Thomason, you make me sick! ;) :D

I have a snakewood mnandi and a small sebenza. I think the mnandi is the best looking folder in CRK"s collection. Its tough for its size and the smoothest I've handled. You'll appreciate the feel. You can also clip this to your front shirt pocket and people will think you have a high quality pen rather than a knife.
