Mnandi: My latest Obsession

A HUGE CONGRATS to Wolfe for finally being able to put the trio together! Glad I was able to help as it couldn't have possibly gone to a better home. Congrats as that is one heck of a trio to put together, I am beyond happy for you!

Congratulations LW! I am so happy for you, I know that search was long and agonizing. But finally, the hunt has ended and I know it was totally worth it. :D
 
I need an old pivot / old nail nick with rare wood / Mammoth badly... I can't sleep and eat well until I get one... LOL :D :D :D

Thanks Brend! And thank you also for that really nice PM you sent recently that I should have answered long before now. Just and FYI, this Mnandi is a no-doc, so if you spot one with it's birthcard I'd still like to know about it. Now, do want a bit of a chuckle? The ROF I got from you is going to be a spare. You see, I didn't just buy the Mnandi pictured above, I bought the complete trio. :D

No, I've pretty much got Mnandis on lockdown right now. In fact, I wish I could recall some I sold a few months back.

Could you please elaborate on the woods used with the Mnandi's?
I'm not 100% certain if I got them right.

If you mean the River of Fire the inlay is in Syringa wood, the flower of Idaho
 
You're right, they're Honduran Rosewood burl. They were a limited run for BladeHQ a few years back.
 
Wolfie, what is the "downstream and upstream" terminolgy!? I see a diff in the wood grains, but what do the names mean in reference to the style of wood? Awesome pick up(s)!

Im confused, what do you have? Getting? MVG's? One of each, an extra? Lol, sorry, i dont keep up, i just know you haves a bunch:)
 
Oh wow! My friend! Beautiful! I have a double snake but that triple snake! Must be a new one to you? And it is engraved! Looks like by Shaw? If so my favorite (and only!) Mnandi engraver! Did you just get this? I think my coveting eyes would have seen it before, lol
I would love to have one of the gold with a diamond Mnandi's. I most like the solid black handle or I would take one like yours....

It's referring to the way the river is flowing in the blades. In this pic the first and third blades the river seems to flow up from the tip. The second and fourth seem to flow down away from the pivot. And yes, I bought MVG's trio. I had already sold my small, so now I have the trio plus the large that was my first ROF.

I took over part of a collection some months ago, but I have to fund it and wait to have all ready to ship to Italy, it takes some time but now... :-)
