Mnandi: Really?

Hey all. First ever Mnandi came in today (thanks Lisa) sporting Lignum Vitae.

Given my monumental preference towards large Sebenzas and my no nonsense Umnumzaan I really didn't know how I would feel about the Mnandi. I knew I wanted Lignum on my first and low and behold this one popped up at a great price so I snagged it.

Well, it was even smaller then expected and light as a feather, yet it feels great in hand and easily opens and closes one handed.

Shocked, I love this thing and expect to pick up a couple more down the road. I'm a one knife in the pocket kind of guy, but the Mnandi makes for a perfect second carry so i'll be giving that a go.

I couldn't be happier:thumbup:

Those Mnandis sure are the perfect gentlemen’s knife; glad you’re liking the fit.

The Mnandi is the cleverest design from CRK I think, at least aesthetically. As far as modern knives go, and by that I mean one hand opening with a pocket clip, it is the most gentlemanly I have seen (no offense Lisa--you know what I mean :p). Both of those features usually make a knife less classy looking, but on the Mnandi they do their job well without standing out. Also, when I think gentleman's knife, it's usually something older in design, yet the Mnandi is titanium with an integral lock. If someone just listed the design elements without showing me a picture, I wouldn't believe it to be a knife that fits in when wearing a suit. That the Mnandi incorporates all these features and does it so well is truly ingenious.

Any chance of a straight on picture of the wood? Lignum Vitae is very nice :D

 Love that dark brown and black mixture

Does it feel smooth, or can you feel the little dents in the surface (the grain)?

It's smooth for sure. There is also a green undertone the camera didn't pick up.

I almost want to trade a Regular for a couple more Mnandis....I'm in trouble:D

Very nice knife! I have one that gets dropped into my pocket just like I would carry a traditional folder.

Very nice James.
I almost latched onto this one myself. Glad it went to an appreciative owner.

nice pick up there bro! Mnandis are very beautiful designs...i love all the different flavors!

I bought an Mnandi. Then I bought another one from Lemmuhj. Now I want another one... Mnandi's are VERY dangerous because of the multitude of gorgeous inlays...

Nice pickup. Glad I didn't see it for sale, that'd have gotten me in trouble. Tree of life is my favorite wood inlay. Love mnandis.

Congrats RR84! Very elegant looking knife. I'm a little apprehensive to go out of my way to handle one, because I know I'll be seduced.;)

Thanks guys. I lucked out.

To those that eyed it and passed, I thank you kindly.

To those that have given me warning, well I'm not messing around if I'm thinking of putting up a Regular for trade, so I guess it's too late:D

I can't get over how small it is and how much I enjoy it. Even for it's size it still has plenty of cutting ability and I love it. I have yet to stop staring at it, opening and closing it, etc. Every detail is amazing and I am indeed in trouble.

Is it smaller than a small Sebbie? Do you just use your thumb in the nail nick for easy one hand opening. Does it lock and unlock using a liner? Sorry for the barrage of questions RR84, but I don't know squat about the Mnandi, other than the fact it's elegant and has wonderfully flowing lines.

Hell I didn't either until today!

I can open it just using the fleshy pad of my thumb on the nail nick, it is a FRAMElock:D, and all my Sebenzas are large so I'm not sure if its smaller than a small Sebenza or not, but it's pretty small!
