It's a machete de suelo, which is a style popular in Costa Rica. They're typically used for cutting grasses and the like. The Marble's pieces were all made by Imacasa/Condor, and Condor has a nicer rendition of it called the Aztec Cleaver. It's actually quite handy, and packs a lot of chopping power in a small package. It may look like a morbidly obese nessmuk, but I would urge you to give it a try. They make larger ones too, but Imacasa isn't producing any without angled blades right now (which allow for horizontal cuts close to the ground without stooping so much, but aren't really useful for general use).
