Just finished this up for the man. Fits his Koster monster nessie and fish knife. Both knives have desert ironwood handles. It's cloudy out today so the pictures aren't the best. I really like this set up.

holy crap Bruce!!!! that's AMAZING.

I love the piggyback on this one.

Nice job man.

Brett

Ilbruche,

You are a very talented man. Thank you:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

This was the first time I ever did a piggyback sheath. The best way I could figure out to fit the small knife was to wet form the leather around the knife and then trim and stitch it on. I think that gives you the best possible fit. For the piggyback portion and the belt loop stitches I used nylon braided cord from Tandy. It's super beefy and my favorite material for stitches.

Bruce,
it's safe to say that it's amazing! You definitely have a talent for leather.

Nice,

Brett

I was hoping you'd end up doing a piggyback for those things! That looks awesome, definitely something to be proud of having on your belt in the woods. Simple and functional but gorgeous too.

 Nice looking rig. Quickdraw is definitely the way to go for a knife like this. I like how the leather color complements the ironwood. Also, the stitching pattern is interesting - two through every hold, then skip a hole?

Only thing I would modify would be the retention strap - maybe angle it to match the dark line scribed at the top of the sheath, and maybe trim the ends. I was thinking 45 degree cuts at the corners, each one removing about 1/4 of the end width. You'd still want enough strap to pull, though.

Great work! You definitely have a future as a sarki. :D

Yeah I thought about trimming the ends. I'll probably do that before I ship it out.

Fantastic work as usual. Quit your regular job yet?

But then I'd have to charge 3 times the price, which means I'd have less business and I'd have to get a job again.

Spooky,

Wear it in the woods? Heck I'll wear that with a Tux (and some suspenders)!

Rocky,

Was talking to the accountant today trying to figure if I could put Ilbruche on the payroll... Executive Vice President for Leather Engineering and Manipulation?
