I sent a USPS MO to a guy. The item is gone, and he has offered to order me another or to return the MO. What would I have to do to cash the MO?

take it back to the PO with your tear off receipt.

I've done it, not problem,

And a good idea to bring along 2 forms of i.d. The tear of receipt itself doesn' t prove you are that person whose name is written on it.

Same as Dave H said - I've taken money order back to the post office with no problems. They sometimes have me write on the back, before I sign it: Not used for purpose intended and then I sign below it.

Defintely have the ID's and make sure it's a larger PO. I live on an island and sometimes she doesn't have enough money in the register so I have to make a trip to the mainland to cash it at a larger PO.

I had that happen once, and I just deposited it into my bank account through the ATM like it was any check. It worked out just fine with no hassle.

MMMMMM:confused:

I didn't know you could do that. I thought the only place you could cash them was at the post office.
Nice to know.:D

As for cashing them. What the others said has been my experience. No problems.
