1st Busse I’ve seen on the show!

Eta Knife or Death not Knife Fight.

But a MOAB on a cooking show would be amazing

What’s knife fight? Haven’t heard of it. Whatever it is, a MOAB is a good place to start

Knife Fight is a cooking show. Do you mean Knife or Death
I'll watch either, especially if its used on the cooking show

Yeah, Knife Or Death is the one where they have these obstacles and you have to get through them with your knife. You know, dowels and sheet metal and ice blocks and such. I always wanted to see a Busse on there. Those contestants knives break all the time so the obstacles are real, for sure. No spoilers!

IMO the MOAB is undersized for the show.

Although people keep showing up with silly crappy swords etc. The “right” Blade seems to be a heavy 2-handed chopper with a 18-22” blade.

Perhaps a super hog nosed war sword with longer handle?

A double handed Hog Nose has always been my thought too. Maybe even a double edged version so one side could be saved for doing the tasks that need a very sharp blade.

I watched it with hubby last night. Hubby Troy said this "That's the very nice young man that nailed the glow ring toss at blade show dinner a few years ago".

I replied "Yes, his name is "Austin, nicest cowboy in the land" :)

You were a FORCE, just watching you I wanted oxygen and a nice comfy chair to sit in (Oh Wait I did)

Super Proud of YOU and Great Job.
XOXO

Just watched it online - Kind of hard to keep my lips sealed!
Right on what Amy said, he's a real fine young man for sure that threw every ounce of himself into that.
Good job Austin!

Hey guys! Been busy and not on here as much in this last year. I had meant to start a thread on Thursday, and alert you guys.

Austin is my son, and he is certified HOG. And yes, Amy he did win the toss at Blade 2 years ago!

Thanks Amy! @Amy-O He says thank you! He asked if you could tell Jerry? He wanted to win so bad, but he came home and said that he took a knife to a sword fight. He debated taking the AK-47 sword. Based on the first season which he researched, the MOAB was a huge blade. But not for the 2nd season, alas. He was hoping they would not edit out his plug for the MOAB, and was thrilled they left it in.

Thank you sir! He loves his Busse's and has invested a lot of his money in these blades. Look for him in upcoming BLade Sports completions also.

Hell yeah. Respect on that choice of blade. I hope he did really well.

Edit: I think it's B.S. that they allow people to use swords on a show that's called "KNIFE or Death." :P I haven't watched it though (don't have cable) so I guess I shouldn't be too critical. Props to Austin again though, for keeping it real with the true B.A.'s choice of blade, the MOAB.

Thank you sir, I totally agree. I would think you would have some parameters to what blades could be used on a "Knife or Death" show. There have been guys with a kitchen butcher knife, all the way to a 40" long sword. Numerous swords were not heat treated properly and they had catastrophic failure. Pieces flying off the blade! So they were pulled out.

Also people brought blades that were dull, or dulled so rapidly you could hardly believe it. That MOAB I sharpened to a shaving edge, and worked it down to a Convex zero bevel. I should have left it with a rougher "toothy" finish. For the straps and rope cutting.
