I spent 8 weeks in West Des Moines, IA for work last summer. In all honesty I was amazed at how nice the area was for being so far out there. I'm told it has some really bad areas but what I saw was pretty nice. Their airport sucks major a**, but thats life in a small down I suppose...

I truly wish I could give you a comparison from personal experience
From only handling them both I would have to say no. They are both full height grinds but have very different designs forward of the familiar fusion handle.
