Moabolo distresses a $2700 door.. Pic heavy and video too

I could be wrong, but based on the location of the chops I am pretty sure this is for a specifically intended look, not destruction. Like Dave's zombie skin sheaths or Competition Finish. ;)

Exactly Tim. The major gashes are made with a coal and hammer. The faux worm holes and edge wear are the Moabolo work. Several chops on the TRIM and what not, it stayed out and the swedge makes great marks on the crisp edges.

That makes sense buddy. I'm sure if I could see the pics I would have understood from the beginning b

I've tried twice to resize them smaller... I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.... Then again the detail of the picture helps see all the distressing.

If you built that door, you do fine work.

I could build it, but I don't think I could do that much hand engraving without error... I've hand scraped a whole hardwood floor before like they did back in the 30s and before.... I've got a few specialty certifications for Hardwood flooring. I strive for perfection and would love to have access to such great wood, the Brazilian mahogany was a joy to work with.

Nice.

I used to work at a custom wood shop. There's a lot of folks that love the "distressed" look. We would best doors with chains. Shoot it with nail guns. Throw saw blades and various other items.

Looking good

The Rental Lake house we got last year, had a distressed kitchen, the owner started out with nice, new, cherry cabinets, and beat the "S....." out of them with a piece of Chain. I guess thats whats popular nowadays lol

Some people have more money than sense...

What's crazy is this lady is the senior vp of human relations for a MAJOR bank.... I've never met a more snarky, anal person, by the money she makes she is good at her job but just a garbage personality. The human relations thing really made me laugh, I guess she gives it all at the office
