Mobile Heat treat oven

Built the oven awhile back. My old craftsman band saw finally quit. So I found a use for the base. Put some casters on it so I could roll it out of the way.

What are you using for the door gasket ?

I'm not sure what its called. Can't remember. But I got it at Ace Hardware. It was with the stove pipe and stuff.

Its called "Braided Insulation Rope". They use it for wood stove door gaskets. There is even a special glue for installing it on the doors. On an oven, metal "U" pins should be all that is needed for installation.

What temp is it rated at?

the stuff I've seen are nowhere near oven temp rated.

The ceramic ropes are rated to 2300F, the asbestos ropes are around 3000F.

The only ones I've found here are only 1000 F
