Just got ahold of one of these today. I like what I have seen and felt so far. This is no where as BIG as its big brother. In fact closed length is about 4 5/8" and overall is 8.0" on the dot! Weight is around 5 oz's? Can't weigh it so this is a guess. Will say that it has a good solid feel in the hand and is heavier than any of the other MOD folders, with the original CQB exempted of course. Carbide tip is not too noticeable and looks like it would not intefere with any knife chores you put it to. The blade from hilt to tip is 3 1/4" in length, but looks bigger. It retains the same shape as the original and is hair popping sharp out of the box. The box by the way is another story!
Opening is very smooth and lockup has absolutly no play in any direction. The buton lock is placed in just the right spot as it is almost instinct to engage it. Handle shape feels great in my hands, for such a small knife ( 8.0" ) it is a hand filling one. I really like the grip inserts and wouldn't mind seeing some MT's with this material. Only gripes I have are the clip being placed below the pivot and leaving an inch of handle portruding from your pocket. MOD supplies a nice sheath to accomadate belt carry in either horizontal or vertical position. The second and last gripe is the writing on the blade. Could do with a little less.
There you have it in a nutshell. I will get back to this post after I have had some time to try it out. I would say though that MOD has a real winner this time around.
