I just got my Scorpion in the mail, and thought I would do a little review.

Although not part of the knife the first thing I thought was cool was the box it came in. For those of you who know what the CQD box looks like, It's the same for the Scorpion. I feel MOD should win an award for packaging.

The Scorpion has a blade that is a bit over 2 1/2" in length and is made of 154cm. It is a swept style blade that is partly double edged. The top of the blade also has some serrations. The primary edge was razor sharp out of the box, but the serrations on top needed a bit of work. With about 5 minutes of sharpening on the good ole' Spyderco file set, the serrations are now razor sharp. Behind the serrations is a thumb ramp with notches.

The handle is skeletonized and is comfortable in my medium sized hands. I thought at first I would need to wrap the handle with para cord to make it comfortable enough to hold, but somehow MOD has made this thin handle very easy on the hands. There are grip notches all over the handle so there shouldn't be any worry of slippage.

The Sheath is very well made. It appears to made of Kydex, but these days, with all the different materials out there, who knows. The box also contains a breakaway ball chain and a tec-lok(spelling?) attachment. There are many different ways to carry this knife.

Fit and finish are perfect. I carried the knife under a white t-shirt yesterday, and forgot I had it on me. For comparison sake, it is only a little bit larger than the LaGriffe. Maby an inch? What ever it is, it extreemly comfortable. Today I am carrying it under my duty shirt but over my bullet proof vest. I really can't tell it's there now.

My conclusion is this knife is awesome! It should work well for defensive purposes as well as utility. BTW/ These aren't too expensive. I got mine from www.knifecenter.com mainly because they are 10 miles from my house, and I get cheaper freight. www.1sks.com has them for a great price as well. Go get one!

BBBOOOO HHHOOOOO

I lost my Scorpion yesterday while cutting some twine. I set it on the side of my pickup truck, and then like an idiot drove off. Is that an omen? I think my Spyderco Police G-10 was feeling lonley and took the Scorpion away from me.

that SUCKS and is why i dont carry my crawford custom while biking anymore - scared to lose it - everything happens for a reason so hope that helps ....
