I'll say this first, both knives have been disassembled and modified and are not covered by Spyderco's warranty.
I bought the Sage 2 NIB last month. I sandblasted the entire knife, didn't like it, wet sanded smooth again then torched the Ti handles. The handles are slick and the blade has a dark satin look now. The action is very smooth and lock up is about 60% same as when I got it new. I haven't carried or used it but did sharpen on the sharpmaker after sandblasting and wet sanding. Shaving sharp. Clip has also been moved to lefthand carry. If you want I can sandblast the handles again since they are very slick now.
Pics of before (sandblasted) and after (now)
The Para 2 is/was a black blade model. I've carried/used/rotated this knife for about 2 months. I sandblasted the blade and it had rust spots immidiately the next day after carry at work. Wet sanded smooth and have not had a problem with rust spots but now the lock sticks really bad after sanding. I don't know why and can't figure out how to fix it. The opening action is very smooth and lock up is tight in all direction, just hard to unlock. One of the pocket clip screws is rounded inside but can still be removed carefully. Knife has been sharpened on the sharpmaker.
I have the original boxes/papers for both knives. Would like to trade both for a PE Paramilitary 1 or maybe other Spydercos I don't have already.
