Model 120 or the General

I recently ( about one month ago) bought a model 120 ( plain black handle) Proline from Cabelas, and I went to order another and they are out of stock on back order....the ebay dealers state they are discontinued....Are they discontunued??? Thanks.....Tom

That's been a hot topic of discussion here in the last year, not just the 120 either...but the general answer is that the 120 is no longer sold by Buck, but is occasionally available from the bigger distributors who can afford to put in a large "special order" for them...SMKW, Cabelas...(I forget the other big distributor)...

I too bought one of the Pro-Line 120's a month or so ago...and soon after that also got a new 120 [not a pro-line] from another distributor...as well as a pre-86 120...

So they are still out there...You just have to make the rounds... ;) :thumbup:
 
Thanks for the answer....I hope to get another from Cabelas, so I will keep checking to see if they restock them....hope they do, as the ebay dealers are looking for a high price for used ones.....Thanks

I did a representative sampling of eBay 120 sales just last week; the average of 19 completed eBay sales was $70.62, which included two over $100...If you throw out those two, the average was $66.34, which is right where I paid for NIB 120's...

Cougar won't let us pimp dealers here...send me an email and I'll give you my dealers URL... :) :thumbup:

I wonder what the new price will be when they get some in... :rolleyes:

Well, we can't buy or sell here, so I won't pimp myself (?), but if 334dave's Buck Buy&Sell Forum ever gets going, I'll be putting my NIB Cabelas Pro-Line 120 and that original pre-86 120 on it... ;)

Except for my 20+ daily spam emails, I haven't gotten any [personal] emails today... :grumpy:

Don't ever sign up for a survey online...especially if you are bandwidth limited... :mad:

Edit: I just sent myself an email through BF...at 2:54pm EDT...We'll see if BF is the bottleneck...or maybe my ISP...
 
Cabelas new holiday catalog came today and there is the General model 120 ( proline) for 54.99.....I will call today to see if they have it or not as the web site says it is out of stock.....lets see
 
Cabelas is still out on them....have bid on a few of them on Ebay, and I am winning on one now, but seems like they are going for $90 plus at the momment....

So, aside from free sharpening and a funky logo on the blade, what is the diff between a "Pro-Line" versus a "standard"?????
