David, are the fluted camel bone scales of different shades or is that the lighting? Looks very interesting!

The bone comes from the supplier bleached white. After I dye it I try and match it as close as possible. It rarely comes out the same on both sides but you can't tell untill you grind it down then it is too late. The right side has some dark flecks all through it and this gives it a little darker look. This is the best bone that I have used. It is very solid and takes dye better than cow bone.
