I was going to let this pass and maybe it's a cultural difference, but I'm from Texas and when I say "I'll take it", that means exactly that. The only way I won't be "coming through" meaning doing what I said I'll do, is if I'm dead or incapacitated, in which case, I apologize in advance. Jason and his father David Winston make excellent knives and I have several of them and probably will have more in the future. Unfortunately this one is already on the way but if I get ahead of you (or anyone) again, just ask, and, unless it is a really special unique knife, I'll be glad to let you have it.

I don't think any offense was intended. It's common for people to get "seconds" if someone else ahead has spoken for the knife. There are times when perhaps the payment option preferred is not possible for the sender, or maybe they are international and the seller wants to keep it stateside etc. Essentially, there are many reasons why a deal might fall through so just in case it does someone else has already called the knife without having to wait for the knife to come back up for sale and possibly missing out.

Jason, wasn't knocking him or you for that matter. I like your knives and was just asking your dad about them. I just thought the Gator fella got his hackles up unnecessarily. The guy wasn't trying to horn in on the sale or question his word or anything. It wasn't like it was at a poker table in an old west saloon where someone is calling the other guy a liar and the next scene is a shootout in the street. Sorry if I caused any harm on your thread.
