Hey all,
So I'm headed to Europe this week and decided to let go of my personal EDC to finance some extra travel expenses. My Model 8 Karambit. It became my edc for several reasons. Firstly the size. Blade is just about 2 3/4" from tip to hilt and with the curve of the blade is about 3" over all edge. From tip to finger ring it's an OAL of 6 1/4". The handle alone is just over 4" and fits the average hand very well. Mind you there's a curve in the handle as well which will make it fit larger hands also. So to me the size is perfect and isn't too noticeable to an attacker. As well it loads your fist quite nicely!
Now here's the catch. I have used this to open boxes and attack pine from time to time. As well, when I made this I noticed there were some flaws in the steel. There are certain small almost unoticeable areas around the thumb ramp serrations that are BARELY viewable and not at all on my camera. I think of it as extra texture
As well, when I etched my logo on, the stencil I used was ancient and hadn't given me it's all and so I threw it out. Consequently, the etch isn't as strong as it could be. Now, those are the flaws. So, I guess you could say it's a custom "second". Blade steel is ATS 34 it's sharp and double ground as well as double edged. The sheath is VERY fast! Comes with a Tek Lock and IWB belt loop. Finish is grind textured and bead blasted. 3/16" thick stock.
These usually run around $225. from me or one of my wonderful retailers. You can get this nasty lil' b*tch now for just $150. shipped conus! Via Priority mail, Insured and with delivery conf. No trades. Sorry for the sketchy pic, could not for the life of me get good focus. Thanks for looking....Rich
