I thought this was pretty,
440, 3/16 stock. OAl 9.5/8"
Blade 4.5", Mirror polished, Handle is 4.75" of Coco Bolo,
w/nickel silver bolts & thong hole liner, Brass guard is Mosaic pinned and soldered.
Thanks for looking
That looks HOT!! One the few guarded knives I've made over the years, I've also pinned them, it keeps it in place while soldering. I like the mos pin in your guard, why didn't I think of that??? LOL!!!!
Thanks Neil, I only make a point of the mosaic because it was something my daughter said "would look cool", it takes a liitle practice getting in and out of there, with regards to the epoxy, but its becoming a signature touch for my knives. In reality its a "WHAT EVER" , but people do notice it...especialy knifemakers!!Thanks Again....
While we are communicationg I need some advice on hand rub finishing.
I hand rub to 1200 grit then lightly buff to mirror.
How do you get that even rubbed, or brush finish on your knives...i only caught a glimpse but it is beautiful....Ed Davidson is always after me to do it...His stuff is incredable, I need to know when to stop, what grit????
Thanks for the help if you can!!
