Model T vanadium axle

[69camaro]

I recently acquired an old Model T rear axle shaft. Ford claimed these were Vanadium steel in their advertising of the period. Can anyone here help me determine if this is workable knife steel? I was thinking of forging an integral bolster blade or tomahawk with it.
