How can I get a moderator to assist with a knife I purchased, and it is not in the condition as advertised?

I bought a $1200 Eustler Dukling which was described by the seller as "Like New". The knife in nothing like new! It has clearly been carried a lot! There are scuff marks on the milling on both sides. There are also glaring scuff marks on the pocket clip. I dont even think this is an original taco it came in, which is also scruffy with tears on it.

To make matters worse, after notifying the seller that I was not happy about the condition of the knife, he tried to pretend that there was nothing wrong with his description of "Like New" because he had included a single photograph of the knife which he claimed showed the condition of the knife. Which is obviously misleading, because nobody normal/ honest would refer to this knife as "Like new" with this amount of scuffs on it.

Let's hear your side of this. A deal should never be considered "completed" until both parties are satisfied. What say you?

I've sent a PM to Tgiv59 Tgiv59 (and Boru13 Boru13 ) again requesting his side of the story...and advised that ignoring the matter will not be well received by staff.

I agree that it should not have been listed as like new.

Hopefully the seller makes good and refunds you, and the knife goes back.

It is always a good idea for the seller to take lots of clear photos, and be authentic in it's description.

The buyer is also served well to take pics of the package upon arrival with time/date stamps, and to record the progression of opening the knife.

I hope you both come to terms that are acceptable for you both.

Seems like the seller (who’s been online all morning, in the knife exchange) was hoping for a larger margin of error when it came to describing their knife as “like new”. What I’m seeing is clearly used, which is more obvious in the buyer’s pictures.

Please keep the discussion to this thread, (so as not to further sidetrack the conversation), but for those of you interested, there is further discussion between the seller, Boru13 Boru13 and myself in the sale thread .

(We also have an ongoing PM between the three of us from earlier today.)

Still waiting for a reply to my question above. You asked for our assistance. (And I see that you're online.)

To be clear...are you requesting to return the knife to the seller for a refund?
I havent made any request from the seller and I hadn't requested a return. I initiated the conversation stating I wasn't happy about the condition of the knife because it clearly was sold with misrepresentation of its condition. From the start he was denying anything wrong with the condition of the knife- which is ridiculous. So here we are.

I left negative feedback for the seller because the knife was in a condition not "like new" as the seller falsely advertised. His negative feedback is purely retaliatory and unjustified. I had fulfilled my obligations as a buyer and done nothing wrong.

Well, since you are not requesting a return or refund, there really is no further "assistance" we can provide to you.

You've had your say. The seller has had his. You two can take it from here via PM, should you choose to.

Let's move on.
