Spark has activated a new feature which uses some algorithms to place suspecious posts (mostly those by recently-registerd or very-low-post-count members containing selected key words) into a "moderator's queue" instead of directly onto the forum. A moderator has to approve them before they go public. It's really well-implemented and, as far as I know, hasn't caught any legitimate posts yet. It's dramatically cutting down on the amount of spam that reaches the publically-visible forums. Of course it's not perfect. The tighter you make it, the more likely it is to hold up a legitimate post. The looser you make it, the more spams will slip through. So, it isn't, in and of itself, going to elliminate spam. But, it is proving helpful.
