Actually, folks should remember that words ARE just words. Nobody is responsible for Their reaction to someone elses words but Themselves.

Paracelsus, very hard to offend with words

You're probably right Tom.I just didn't want to say it again and have the thread locked up again

I think at this point in time we have to Ask the Audience. Understand that you have No lifelines left. And You never know, we might be able to waste a whole bunch of valuable time just by talking for a while about nothing so that we could charge More for the Advertising time. We could just ramble on, trying to increase the tension level until we ask: what is two and two? (it's not that easy, really). Or maybe we will ask you: what is the value Planck's Constant to Fifty decimal places?

One Million Dollars? For your soul? I dunno.

People actually Watch this stuff. My wife and children are addicted to Regis Philbin's insideous beseeching. It's the work of the Devil I tell you. Turn off the television NOW. Or else.

Paracelsus, escaped and loose again, I won't go Too Far, promise.

Hey Stompy! I Liked your post (the way it was Before). Why edit out a good one? But, I really don't think It would Taste any better with nacho cheese on it. Do you?

It does seem a little funny that Hermanknives smily post is deleted. And chiro75 calling me a jack ass and a few other namesis left even when he says he is trying to insult me. Not only has he called me names but a few others as well, even yoda4561 whom I think is one of the nicest members at BF. Don't get me wrong I think the heated threads have the most info in them on this whole site, and would never want them deleted or even locked. I don't even like a word deleted out of a post. I think flame control has been a little heavy handed lately and members skinn has gotten a little thin. Hey Mike maybe you should send that e-mail out again.

Wow, these take on a total life all of their own. I wonder how come these particular threads that involve issues of name calling and censorship, etc. are not removed to say--the Community Forum? That way the rest of us can go on and try and learn and enjoy on the General Forum. From my observation it appears that when certain forumites post they seem to draw the same circle of forumites that point and probe. Maybe the way to handle these in the future is to move it to the Community Forum and let them spite each other to muteness.

Just my .02 cents worth--a bit of Overland Park humor

Db, as Mike and Spark noted, the moderators may miss a comment from time to time. If you feel that someone is getting out of hand, regarding you or anyone else, drop the moderator an email.

The moderation on this forum has been and continues to be excellent.

Even the very few edits that I have witness have been done with care and proper decorum. We have, however, been critical of other forums where the members words are sometimes deleted. We need to be careful to keep to the high ground.

Cliff, I am a big boy now and can take a little name calling now. I was just trying to make a point about how some things have been edited. Maybe I am a jack a I guess, I really don't like posted edited or deleted, some times my posts must not be clear. I really do think JKM has done a good job. It just seems some times when a post is deleted it seems to leave a question in the mind of what was there. I would rather see a note on the post giving a warning about the post instead of it deleted. Really I don't know what the answers are. Just trying to give some ideas.

Well, I'm guessing this thread has run it's course as far as productivity goes.

Just to reemphasize some points -
  • Treat your time on BladeForums.com like you are in someone else's house - you are a guest, so please act like one. Save the fighting for when you are at home (or private email).
  • The Moderators are busy people - we can't read every thread, so sometimes we miss things. If we miss something, and don't miss something else, don't assume it's favoritism. Our missing something isn't a liscense to do the wrong thing. Do the right thing always.
  • If a moderator has to take action chances are there's a good reason. Again, their not taking action on another thread does not imply favoritism, preferential treatment, or "having it in for you". Most likely, they just missed it. Think "cops giving a speeding ticket" - they may not get you every time, but when they do, you most likely deserve it.
  • Just because you have thick skin, doesn't mean that everyone does. You can call yourself a dumbass and a prick, and a ****sucking ***** ***** ***** jello ****** ***** twinkie ***** ***** eating peice of ***** ******** ******** **** son of a ***************** ************ ****** ************** cheverolet ******* taco all you want. If you and your friends regularly act this way to each other, even better. But it's not part of the code of conduct here.
  • Be a man about things. If you screw up, don't try to weasel out of it. Just take the responsibility for your own actions and move on, and learn from the experience.

With that, I'm going to close this thread.

Spark
