I was going to protest being Festus, but seeing how Garth is Miss Kitty, I'll just shut up for now, Maaaatheeeeeeew.

This forum is about knives.

That picture is offensive to many people on many levels. Discussion of that goes in the political forum.

Being of Polish/Lithuanian lineage, I find an image of Hitler not only offensive but enraging. It's about knives brothers and sisters, keep it on task.

Lesse now, I've got pics of my dog, one of the car, and a knife in a hood, and, I think theres one around here of my bird hanging upside down in his cage..................................:p

The moderators of this forum do a fine job, and I applaud them for it. Moderating an internet forum is not easy, they do it because they were asked to, they get no special benefits and it is not easy. Mike keep up the good work, John and Garth good luck, Jerry just keep doing whatever it is you do (it seems to be working for you ;) )

If you want to see a picture of hitler or any of the other pics that Mike has edited from this forum you can easily find them in about 2 secs on the internet. I appreciate how family friendly this forum is and I don't have a problem with viewing it in the kitchen when my kids are nearby.

I don't have any real axe to grind in this particular instance (see my reference to Godwin's Law), but offer it as an impartial judgement based on my years of usenet flamewar combat (mostly rec.moto). I am going to risk some wrath here and make this observation:

If the reason given for removing the image is because it "isn't knife related", why do we allow all the pictures of booze? There is a subtle double standard here. It appears that the only criterion is "Mike doesn't like it" and I'm not sure how objective that is, or how I am supposed to know in advance what will or won't pass muster. Understand that limiting this strictly to knives would bore me to tears. I really enjoy some of the off-topic threads that get started. Others get consigned to the bit-bin. Maybe we need to think this through....

Here, here Zardoz is not knife related even if he is holding a battle mistress. Who else finds sean connery in a diaper offensive. You know you do raise your hands!!!

I don't think everything has to be knife related, but it does need to be family friendly and not something that is posted just to enrage others. I don't mind pics of JWB, Carling etc. I don't drink but pics and talk of it doesn't offend me nor does it bother me that others choose to drink.

I think a little common sense goes a long way. If you have to ask yourself what others will think about what you are about to post, it is best not to post it ;)
