Hello all,

Craigslist has been a crapshoot for finding a decent used anvil. Strongly considering picking up a new one from Centaur Forge or the local Farrier supply shop.
Any thoughts on how the different brands compare: Emerson, TFS, NC Tool?
Any other new offerings I'm missing that are in the sub $500 range. I'm only looking for a 50-100 pounder for light duty smithing.

I'm not sure what you are wishing for but there is a 100lb fisher in Olympia for $480 and it looks great. There are 3 anvils in the Tricities. Jess

Between Craigslist and eBay, I've never had a problem finding anvils, especially if you're budget is good enough to entertain the idea of buying a new one.

Fisher anvils are wonderful to work on, far better than a new one, in my estimation. Fisher anvils don't ring like a bell.
