hello together,

here is a knife for my show in solingen next weekend:
it´s a sort of modern ´bavarian jagdnicker´, built as an integral with fossil seacow-rib

W1 forged
diff. hardened
60HRC
seacow-rib
tang internally screwed
buttplate with logo
total 23cm
sharp 10cm
thickness 3,0-1,5mm

Beautiful.
I was looking at it (hadn't paid attention to who posted it at first) and thought "that looks like Wieland's work". Looked at who posted it, and sure enough.

Perfect lines. A really good example of subtle curves creating a knife greater than the sum of it's parts.

I like it. Does the term jagdnicker translate into anything, or is it just a name like bowie knife?
 
@kamagong,

the ´jagdnicker´ was used by a hunter to kill a wounded roe after the shot and seeking.
´abnicken´ means to stab the knife into the spinal column between skull and the first vertebra for separating the spinal marrow.
the original ´jagdnicker´ were more pointy for that use.
