So while spending some time recently with my SOG Desert Dagger, it kinda got me thinking. Is there really no dagger currently in production that even comes close to looking this good? Everything is all blacked out or has full kraton handles. Whatever happened to the polished metal handguards and pommels? The only thing I can think of that comes close is the Cold Steel Tai Pan but it's blade is much broader and it doesn't have quite the same slender, attractive look. With as saturated as the market is now with so many offerings available, it truly is puzzling. Is there somewhere I'm not looking? I'd love to have something else that looks like this but that I'd be more willing to get rough with.

I have a Cold Steel Tai Pan, and it is really a pretty cool knife. But, I always think to myself how much nicer it would be with either a Black or Ivory colored G-10 handle.
👍😁👍

Since you said that the Tai Pan has a wider blade profile than you prefer, the following blade profile may also not fit your style. That said, it does check off some of the other boxes...

Who makes that?

Joker makes a nice A/F homage in their "Lince" model. I picked one up, and am very happy with it, the only gripe is I wish the guard was a tiny bit longer, and had the upturns like the A/F for finger placement -

I like some of Joker' traditional patterned knives, but they sure tend to use some awfully thin blade stock. I mean, they don't need to be crowbars, but a little more thickness would add to their desirability, imo 😊

Still, that's a nice looking knife 👍

Yeah, this one is a hair under 3/16" at the ricasso, so not terrible, but a tiny bit thicker might of gave a better presentation.

Spartan/George does have some nice ones. Would be nice to see a current offering in satin though.

Considering what a dagger is intended for a slender profile is good- humans having ribs and all.

I really dig this knife! They did a pretty good job of combining fighting and field knives into a single handy blade. On top of that, its a beautiful blade as well!
