Modern Dagger Aesthetics

Reviving this thread since it's very relevant to my interests. Any 2024 updates on the modern dagger world? I remember the SOG daggers, the Cold Steel Taipan, a few Gerber knives, EK Commando, etc that seemed to run mostly in the '80s and '90s. Only original style that seems to be around is the Taipan, and those things are expensive compared to what they used to be. Speaking of prices, I remember a thread here about a decade ago saying the SOG Daggert was an affordable replacement for the Desert Dagger that went from $80 to $300 in a few years, and now people are asking close to that for Daggerts.

Still looking for something like Desert Dagger that isn't either a collectible or a $500 custom.

Double-edged knives and daggers have long been an item with me.

This is one my father made, from a crosscut sawblade, back during WWII. It is an all-time-favorite of mine:

Now returning to the world of commercial blades, there's this one. I have no provenance on it, but it ain't bad:

Nice daggers. I've been out of this so long, now that I check around I gather less than half of MSRP isn't unusual for Cold Steel street prices. Now strongly considering a Tai Pan if I can decide 3V or San Mai.
