Mike, Since you're optioning the lanyard hole, any chance you could get a vote going for scale material and see what emerges? I see a lot of desire for wood and Viper did a great job with the Amboyna Burl on the same frame before. Are there options you've already decided on, or are you still deciding? Viper does a lot of CF, G10 and micarta, but I also prefer wood. They've done Bocote and Zircote and Olive quite a lot. Ebony is "classic" and a very hard wood, but I'll bet that a hard but prettier wood would sell a lot more knives. My vote is Cocobolo or Amboyna Burl. IMHO, the Amboyna Burl viper you carried just after last year's BF knife is the prettiest wood I've seen on a knife. Any input you can give the group yet?
Very excited. How far away before you open them for early reserve?
Looks like you've got a winner Mike![]()
You're very welcome MikeMany thanks for the thumbs up. But most importantly thank you for the priceless advice and direction.
Thanks for the update, Mike. I prefer no lanyard hole. As far as the feel (to the eyes), the blade seems canted downward, but not a deal breaker.
Nah. I already have my mind set on ebony, cocobolo, stag, smooth ram as a nod to history (if we make it happen in general). If they can't accommodate those - I may get back for other preferences.
