I sorta skipped over this, but this is my serial number 500!
My modern seax design, done as a "short" langseax.
Overall the length is 17 5/8 inches, with a blade length of 11 inches. 5160 steel, .235 through the tang with a moderate full distal taper. Full quench and temper. Full zero convex grind on the blade, which is hand rubbed to 600 grit.
Handle is 6 1/2 inches long inside the guard, with burgundy micarta scales and stainless 1/4 inch pins. As I most often do with micarta, I finish it like wood, sanding and applying linseed oil soaks to saturate the fibers. With the full thickness tang and longish handle, balance is 1/2 inch in front of the guard.
Sheath is a Koyote Girl explorer model fully adjustable belt hange that can be reversed for LH carry or removed for pack strap mounting. As always, double seamed, double needle harness stitching done by hand.
It's that time of year again, so if you are looking at this and aren't a paid member, take the price of a basic membership off and go get sign up! If you are, take the price of a basic membership off anyway.
Asking $345, with $10 for shipping in the US. Paypal, money orders, and checks accepted.
thanks for looking!
