Hi All,

I always enjoy browsing through the 'traditional slipjoint' sections of this great forum. Off course one of the main rules is that the knives should have a pinned construction and have no 'modern' materials. So I thought it might be fun to start a tread with 'only' modern slipjoints. Take-a-part construction, titanium, carbon fiber, high end steel, to name some of the different features. I know there are many brands and custom models out there to share with some sweet pics. Please do not include all sorts of SAK's.

My first one is a limited edition (105 pc) from Italy of the Viper Hug2 with poplar burl covers and Ti frame and Böhler M390 blade.

The Blue Ti Spyderco "PITS" (Pie In The Sky) Folder in my collection is a favorite "modern" slipjoint of mine.

Ref: Spyderco PITS Folder Ti Blue {C192TIBLU)

PS: Spyderco just revealed that it is bringing back the PITS as a limited edition "Sprint" in Plain Ti w/a M390 blade.

See Page 14 in the current Reveal Catalog here: https://catalog.spyderco.com/spyderco-reveal-10-2022/
See also: https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details/C192TIM390/2313

The originals were released in both plain and blue anno for $399.95; think MAP was 65% at the time.
MSRP for the Sprint is listed at $400 and MAP should be $280.

That is such a beautiful knife. I wish someone did a liner lock front flipper version of this.

This is my only modern slipjoint with a double detent system. ZT 0235.

Question for everyone replying to this thread: What is it about the slipjoint that appeals to you(other than maybe legal requirements)? I like many of the traditional designs but I personally just feel better with a locking blade which is why I generally don't buy slipjoints.

This is one I have. A gift from a very kind coworker I used to have. He was one of the Americans working in the border factory I was working at. I told him I liked knives and the next day he showed up with this. It is nothing special in terms of quality, etc. But it meant the world to me when he gave me that knife and I carried it every day for a while.
