If there's already a thread specifically dedicated to modded CRKs I haven't seen it. I see them here and there about one specific knife, but let's get one long thread with personalized CRKs. Even if they've been posted elsewhere, add them here, too.
Anodized, scotchbrited, cool lanyard, custom scale, whatever.

I'll go first.

My first and favorite CRK was this small Insingo. I scotchbrited it, but never liked the blue hardware. So I sent it to the factory to have silver hardware added.

Had them engrave it while it was there. OD lanyard is obviously not stock.

Here's one that's not for the faint of heart....

While I was in Afghanistan I used a tiny round file to make the thumbstub on the lockside easier to use. When I finished, I put the shaved-down scale on the Seb I really wanted it on, and gave away the donor Seb. It may not be pretty, but I can easily open the knife with either hand now.

Lone_Wolfe, is that a G-10 scale on that one?
I'm sending the Insingo off this week to get an OD G-10 scale, will definitely add it to this thread when I get it back...

Yes, the donor Seb has a G10, I believe it's a Barry H. A friend of mine has it now, but I'm looking for a regular scale for him.

I didn' mod my knife, but I did mod my sheath. I prefer horizontal carry for my fixed lades, so I sewed a horizontal loop onto my sheath.

WOW! That's the first I've seen those. I assume they're all mammoth inlays? Wonder if anyone's ever had a picture of a mammoth scrimshawed on one?

That must've taken FOREVER. My hands are cramping just thinking about it.

That scrimshaw work is astounding!

I think I've lost count of how many Sebenzas and Umnumzaans I've modded out in 10 years, its alot. So far, my favorite is still my avatar knife that I did a long time ago. Maybe because its mine:D

Currently, it looks like this: Stonewashed and torch darkend.

It used to look like this about 8 years ago or so ( I had Reese Weiland do a custom 3V flat grind blade for it):

Barry, did you do that one out of the original Ti scale?

Yeah, both the original scales I grooved and then sent to someone that used to do flame heat anodizing. That mod put me on the map, I guess. I still get compliments and requests to do the same thing. some people balk when I tell them it will void their warranty. Others dont care. My personal knife that I've used HARD for years, still has less than 50% lock engagement. As far as I'm concerned, Sebenzas are bullet proof.
